Eef Van Acker

Eef Van Acker was born in Ghent on 4 May 1978. She holds a Master degree for Clarinet and Jazz Voice and a Master degree in Conducting. Both were obtained at the Conservatory for Music of Ghent. She also took up the piano, saxophone and trombine.

Eef now teaches Jazz Voice and Jazz Combo at the Academy in Gentbrugge. Music means the world to her. She has played the clarinet in renowned symphonic orchestras and ensembles. As a clarinet soloist she has performed with worldclass directors such as Dirk Brossé. Singing is her second nature. Eef worked as a backing vocal with Paul Young, Ronan Keating, Raf Van Brussel, Paul Michiels, etc. Her performances as lead vocalist for Mucho Gusto (salsa), Big Band ´86 (conductor Marc Godfroid) and various harmony orchestras improved her stage presence. She also participated in several international workshops where she took classes from Fay Claassen,Mark Murphy,Bob Mintzer,Dick Oatts...

Eef is an allround musician, but jazz is what she adores more than anything. She is completely going for it with the ‘Eef Van Acker Quintet´. Eef writes the compositions and arrangements for her band, and she does it with passion ! Do come and listen to the Eef Van Acker Quintet at a club nearby.
